The new Shrek 5 trailer is out and… yeah, I’m not impressed. Probably a disgrace to the first Shrek

Shrek 5 Looks Like DreamWorks Forgot What Made the Original Movies Legendary
Yo, let me be real with you…I grew up on the original Shrek movies. They were funny, irreverent, and actually had heart. They roasted Disney, had killer soundtracks, and gave us one of the best animated franchises ever.
So when the Shrek 5 trailer dropped, I clicked with high hopes… and immediately felt let down.
The animation looks off — like they tried to modernize it but ended up with something that feels generic and soulless.
The character designs are weirdly polished in a way that loses that gritty, fairy-tale-parody charm the originals had. And the jokes in the teaser? They feel forced, like DreamWorks is desperately trying to recapture the magic instead of just letting it happen naturally.
After all these years, I expected them to swing hard. Bring back the swamp energy, the layered humor, the ridiculous pop culture roasts.
Instead, it looks like another safe, corporate, nostalgia-bait cash grab.
I really hope the full movie proves me wrong...but I doubt it...
Shrek deserves better than this. The character became an icon because he was different — ugly, loud, unapologetic, and actually funny. If they turn this into another watered-down family flick with weak one-liners, I’m tapping out.
DreamWorks, do not fumble this. We waited too long for Shrek to come back just for you to phone it in.
I was able to capture some nice reactions that kinda sides with my point of view... please take a look at them and give these links a sub!
